Fábio and Morven Santos (founders of ND) had previously worked in social projects for children living on the streets and in the slums of Belo Horizonte. They started dreaming of an Adventure Centre reaching out to poor and under-privileged young people, and in November 2004, they literally stumbled across ´Fazenda Novo Destino´ (New Destiny Farm) which was up for sale about an hour away from the city, for the equivalent of £52,000.
They were amazed at the potential of the land and it´s natural beauty, a perfect site to set up such a Project. Miraculously, in less than a week, different individual offerings came in which totalled the exact price of the farm. It really was a miracle!
