How did it start?
In 2004, a couple of missionaries were praying about what kind of work God wanted them to do with children at risk in Brazil. One of the missionaries was Scottish, and while visiting her aunt and uncle, Lorimer and Moira Gray, who ran the Abernethy Outdoor Centre in Nethy Bridge, Morven and her husband began to imagine a similar kind of Christian Adventure Centre in Brazil, but specifically for broken, disadvantaged children, suffering daily injustice in the slums.
A few months later, the couple ‘just happened’ to come across the perfect place for the work, and amazingly, it was already called, ‘New Destiny Farm’, which fitted perfectly with the vision.
In the following week, they received enough donations to be able to buy the farm and set up New Destiny Adventure Centre.
